For the longest time now I have been living near or inside Naarden Vesting, one of the best preserved fortified cities in Europe, featuring a double system of moats and walls, built in the 17th century. I even made a book about the Vesting in 2011.
Next august I will be moving from inside the Vesting to a new home outside of the fortifications. To mark this occasion I shot a short but distinctive landscape series honouring the beautiful and nowadays peaceful Vesting. This is a unique series: all photographs are one-offs.
