A date asked me what the subject of my photography is. I wanted to keep it simple so I shouted “emptiness”. This is not entirely untrue. Meanwhile I prepared my entry to the Sony World Photography Awards for this year, in the process my best work from 2012 emerged. The following four are part of the selection.
It is interesting that I like the photographs from the Verzorgingsplaatsen project so much (the first two are part of that project), because they are shot outside of the comfort of my home in front of dozens of people, without much control over the circumstances (weather, position of elements). I feel working on still lifes should suit me better.
