These are not my photographs, but this is my car. Recently my love for cars and especially driving was rekindled, not in the least because my wife made me buy this Toyota MR2 Roadster. It might have been a belated midlife crisis. I use the MR2 as a daily driver. The top is down whenever no or little precipitation is anticipated on my journey. During the winter I have a hat and gloves which, combined with the powerful heating system of the MR2, keep me warm.
Early 2026 I started to vlog with the MR2, check out my (Dutch spoken) channel ruige hond on YouTube. My main goals with the vlog are
- Another introvert manifesting themselves, which is important to me in a sea of shouting extroverts.
- Change lanes at an advanced age (I’m 52 soon).
- Learn YouTube and video / audio producing.
- Show how fun driving is, no supercar or hypercar needed.
- Use the MR2 as a vehicle to fame. Although that is probably subconcious.

Props to GP Elite for providing this excellent and very enjoyable day on the track in Zandvoort. I did their driving skills training level 0. Currently saving up for another course (they have many).
My exhaust broke on the way home, but it was totally worth it.
