Expired photographic film

Another expired photographic colour film that I shot photos on with my Nikon FM2N with Carl Zeiss 2/28 ZF. Collecting the prints at my favourite printshop is a present every time, just like a real present it can dissapoint but it is always exciting, and that makes me happy. I keep shooting film to introduce more randomness in my photography, this is also the reason to use expired rolls mostly, one never can tell how the colours will come out, most of the time they are fine though.

The fact that an old film-camera like the Nikon FM2N is light and compact (compared to the digital workhorse) also makes it attractive to take with you on a walk and shoot some expired photographic film. When developed I scan the film with my Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II (very old, I know). All the steps in this process slow me down, when the photograph finally appears on my monitor I value it more than a digital snapshot. Even though it is still a snapshot (these expired-film-shots are not intended to be fine art or anything).

The following two photographs are from a previous roll, also expired. Here the colours are completely shifted. I do not remember by how much this film roll was expired but my guess is by a long time.
