Hahnemühle photorag looks like sketching paper, it has a beautiful subtle texture. The Epson printer I have uses special matte black ink that provides a truly deep and rich black on this Hahnemühle fineart paper, especially contrasting with gorgeous highlights. I reduced the ink-coverage by 4% for a dry and flat paper output. Of course colour printing is also possible, I printed some nudes (alas, not for public viewing) bathed in golden light on a black background that look absolutely stunning printed on this paper. Using the Hahnemühle printer profile downloaded from their website, I get exactly what I see on my well calibrated monitor, but beautiful.
Readily available on Hahnemühle photorag paper are Secret garden, Phys ed nostalgia, Kortjakje (only the alternative take for now) and a new series called Stones. Prints are signed and numbered on the back and entered in my administration, editions of 5 + 1 AP. Check out the printing process in this 1 minute video: Printing Kortjakje – on Vimeo. The Epson feeds fineart paper using a special feeder, one by one, so as to keep it as flat as possible ensuring it will not be damaged. The process takes some time, but is absolutely worth it.

Some works in the Stones series mentioned above (sold 1 already):

Stones I – photo Joeri van Veen 2015

Stones IV – photo Joeri van Veen 2015

Stones V – photo Joeri van Veen 2015

Stones VI – photo Joeri van Veen 2015

Featuring a weird series of photographs with a round stone and a flat stone, as an excuse to talk about my favourite paper.

[4

post-829","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-photography
["GET
